Essex Branch are holding their Essex Silk Painters Exhibition at the Loughton Arts Centre: 187 High Rd, Loughton IG10 4LF until March 30th 2017 - well worth a visit!

BBC Get Creative Weekend 7th, 8th and 9th April 2017. They’re asking artists and arts organisations, community groups and societies of all shapes and sizes to invite you to take part in a creative experience.

Macclesfield Museums are holding a range of exciting new craft activities, workshops and study days for adults over the next few months - silk jewellery making with original WWII escape maps, clothing alteration, free machine embroidery, calligraphy, and the history of silk. Also hosting a number of textile-based exhibitions at The Old Sunday School and The Silk Museum. 11 Feb - 1st April2017. For more information and tickets go to

The Guild of Silk Painters
is an international, non-profit- making organisation, based in Great Britain whose aim is to promote and inspire the art of silk painting.

Membership of the Guild will provide you, amongst other benefits, with a network of fellow painters of all levels, abilities and locations to share and exchange ideas and information through the Journal and the website.

Artists often work alone and miss the stimulation that can be gained from creative interchange. The Guild will encourage you, through your local branch, to meet regularly with other painters for demonstrations, workshops and lectures.

There are also opportunities to showcase members' work both here in the galleries and in the Journal.
